IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONTROLLING AND REPORTING PRACTICES OF A NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS DECOMMISSIONING PROGRAM
CHALLENGES
Simultaneously monitoring the decommissioning of nuclear power plants in Europe, our client needed to secure the implementation of relevant and efficient program controlling and reporting practices by each of decommissioning operator.
CYLAD assignment was to assess the program management practices of the operators and to build improvement roadmaps.
SOLUTIONS
The implemented approach relied on three consecutive steps:
Evaluation of the project management practices of operators through compliance with project management standards (ISO 21508) and comparison with program industry best practices (e.g., EVM)
For each operator, definition of a specific program controlling improvement roadmap
Transversally, definition and introduction of enhanced controlling policies (e.g., baselining) and standardized monitoring reports
In parallel, CYLAD led at-completion performance analysis for each operator, to confirm program status and perspectives.
